Sanitation & Recycling
The City of Alvarado typically collects garbage from residents on Thursday mornings. Any change to this will be posted to the alert system. Appliances may be put on the curb for pickup by the city. A fee of $5.00 will be charged to your city bill.
Most trash and debris, when properly bundled and/or contained, can be disposed of at curbside with your regular garbage service days. If assistance is needed or you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Recycling containers are self-serve and are located to the south of the city hall, behind the fire hall.
The burn site on the southeast end of town is for branches and wood only . Do not leave trash, furniture, or appliances at this location. The use of this site is for the city of Alvarado residents only.
A compost pile on the North East end of town is for grass clippings and leaves only. Do not leave plastic bags or planter containers behind.
Cardboard boxes can be flattened and left inside the city hall south door.
